January proved to be a busy yet monumental month for the 3d U.S. Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) as our Soldiers spent countless hours rehearsing for the 57th Presidential Inauguration. On Jan. 21 their hard work paid off. More than 400 Old Guard Soldiers supported inaugural events to include the parade, inaugural balls and the swearing in ceremony at the Capitol. However, even the rigorous schedule of the inauguration and weeks of preparation did not stop the dedication of these committed Soldiers. Soldiers still carried out the day-to-day missions of the regiment from preparing for ceremonial missions to painting newly acquired HMMWVs.
